ASIA's celebration of the Chinese New Year was not complete without the amazing people that joined in on the fun, and food, and red envelopes! The red envelopes had some fun facts about the Chinese New Year (also called Spring Festival and Lunar New Year, by the way) and Chinese Feng Shui Coins for wealth and success!
For those who couldn't make it- click here for the facts that enlightened the guests and the night!
Success! We got to welcome back some SOLES graduates, catch up, and talk about future events! It was great seeing all of you and having Dr. J, Dr. Hall, and Peggy join us!
Keep an eye out for other great events and pictures!

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, ASIA members served the homeless at Father Joe's Villages. They were divided into two groups/kitchens- one kitchen serving individuals and the other serving families.

A.S.I.A President and Marketing/PR, attended the SOLES Open House and participated in the Graduate Student Life Panel where they shared their experiences with potential future students, answered questions, and gave some tips and hints!

ASIA board members met with students, old and new, to discuss ASIA's vision, mission statement and upcoming events. We also spoke about potential events that the students may enjoy. It was great meeting the first year students for the first time! We were also joined by Ruth Inacay, one of ASIA's founding members and Dr. Johnson, ASIA's advisor.
A.S.I.A had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Eric Marcus as he led an experiential workshop in SOLES. Dr. Marcus is the author of "Gestalt Therapy and Beyond" and has trained counselors in the US and 14 other countries. We had a great turnout and many of you expressed how much you gained from it. Be on the look out as Techniques and Art of Counseling will return!
A.S.I.A hosted it's 2nd annual Chinese New Year celebration at Wang's North Park on February 27th. It was an event open to the SOLES and community so we had many of the counseling cohorts attend plus community members! Attendees had the chance to celebrate and mingle over appetizers! Tina, our lovely event coordinator, even made goodie bags filled with Chinese candy and a mini calendar for attendees to take home.
